Hello!
Here is my new toy, that is just completing the run in now.
The colour is custom and copied from a sample swatch that was supplied. Best described as "Ultra Violet Metalic" or "Black with Red Blue Metalic"
Options are:
Paint to sample. (one of a kind)
PASM. (Porsche Active Suspension Management)
PCCB. (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes)
LSD. (Limited Slip Differential)
Sports Chrono plus. (allows you to NOT get "nanny'd" by the PSM stability system)
Sports Seats. (great now I cant slide out of the seat like before)
Analog and Digital TV Tuner. (can watch and listen to the news on the way home)
Homelink. (garage door opener. - still trying to get that to work :-( )
Rain sensors and auto dim mirror. (Am I lazy?)
Coloured wheel crests. (Looks cool)
Floor mats. (Dirt collectors)
Window tint.
Factory included options:
Park Assist.
Climate control.
Cruise control.
Porsche PCM 3.0 with Sat Nav. (The map must be 2-3 years old btw)
Six disc CD/DVD changer.
So what different from the "old" 06 Cayman S?
The engine is much quieter inside. Less flat 6 wirr sound. Kinda sad really.
Outside the engine makes a more of a tick tick sound.
The clutch is a lot softer and more like a conventional car now. Hydrolics must be setup different.
The throttle is more soggy and hangs more between shifts. - a bit too much IMO and is more suitable for slow shifters (not me ).
The low RPM torque seems less (so far) than my 06.
PASM is great and suspension seems setup a little better. When PASM is off its almost the same as stock standard Cayman. With PASM on it like being in a GT3.
Overall I would say its more road focused and less track focused than the last version :-( even though this one has more track type options.
The rear parcel shelf in the boot gets a lot hotter than the 06 however this is due to the stock exhaust in 2010.
Sport seats are great but you get a little hotter in them.
The Engine cooling fan comes on more by its self. Even 15mins after a switch off it can turn on randomly by itself!
